The basic technology behind the resomation process has been well established for many years, however, the vision of Resomation Ltd to utilise the technology as a commercial alternative to cremation and burial is relatively new. Resomation Ltd have been developing the Resomation process since 2007, working closely with the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA and in partnership with LBBC Technologies in Leeds, UK.

Founder and Managing Director of Resomation Ltd, Sandy Sullivan comments: “ Over 130 years ago cremation offered fundamental change in the way we approach human disposition and some serious convincing was required before it was fully accepted. Resomation now offers a new, innovative approach which uses less energy and emits significantly less greenhouse gasses than cremation.”

Resomation Ltd was formed in Scotland in early 2007 to promote Resomation as a real alternative to burial and cremation. At a time when public awareness of carbon emissions and environmental responsibility is ever on the increase, the opportunity arose to offer people another choice of disposition.
